A Safe Place to make a New Start.
Our team is available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide a transitional housing program where eligible pregnant women or those with an infant can begin to build a strong foundation for their lives and their future.
While in our program, you can start over and achieve what you never thought possible.
The Elizabeth House provides a safe and healthy home for you and your child while you work toward living independently..
While here, you’ll have an opportunity to achieve goals including:
- Get your high school diploma, GED, career training, certifications, or further education
- Pay off debt and start saving for the future
- Learn how to manage your money
- Grow in life skills like time management, conflict resolution, and negotiation
- Get help overcoming life’s traumas
- Identify and choose healthy relationships for you and your baby
- Increase your household management skills like cooking, cleaning, and organization
- Gain parenting skills to become the most successful mom possible
It’s our goal that when a participant graduates, they never worry about where they will live, or how they’ll get by. They will have true security and the resources they need to thrive.
Eligibility
- Single and pregnant or up to six months post-partum.
- Single, pregnant women with one additional toddler up to two years of age
- No active drug or alcohol issues (six months sobriety) We are a drug-free facility.
- No felony criminal convictions (background check required)
- No mental health issues that prevent you from living in a community and carrying out program requirements (we are not licensed as a mental health facility and cannot meet the needs of those who may be a danger to themselves or others)
- Must be willing to accept coaching
- Must be willing to comply with all program requirements, including pursuing employment or education, unless unable to as verified by your physician.
- Must be willing to obtain a high school diploma or GED if you do not have one.
- No communicable diseases (we will ask you to sign a release for medical records ot certify you are able to live in a community setting)
- We accept birth moms who plan to parent and those who are considering an adoption plan. We support both choices as loving and sacrificial parenting choices.
The House
The Elizabeth House is a community living group home. Seven or eight moms live together at one time. Each woman has a private bedroom to share with her baby. Community spaces include a kitchen, computer room, laundry, playroom and living room.
Our Madison facility accommodates first-time, single, pregnant women and we have two rooms that can accommodate a pregnant mom with a toddler. Our second location is planned to open in early 2026 and will accommodate pregnant women who have more than one child.
The house is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The core program team consists of the Program Director, Case Manager/Care Partner, Parent Coach, and House Mom.
