When you’ve already decided to carry your unexpected pregnancy, the biggest question often becomes practical: Where will I live? If your housing feels unstable, unsafe, or temporary, it’s hard to focus on preparing for your baby.
The Elizabeth House is a safe place for a new start. It is a maternity home where pregnant women and new moms can live in a stable, supportive environment while they prepare for life with their baby. If you are ready to change the direction of your life, this could be the place where it begins.

Here’s what life looks like when you have this kind of support.
Safe, Stable Housing Comes First
The primary benefit of a maternity home is simple but life-changing: safe housing.
At The Elizabeth House, you have a safe place to sleep, space to settle, and the structure to begin rebuilding. Residents live in a community home setting, with private bedrooms for mom and baby and shared spaces for everyday life, meals, laundry, job searching, and preparing for motherhood.
Support is available day and night. The house is staffed 24/7, and residents are surrounded by a team that helps with goal-setting, parenting growth, and the practical steps that lead to independence.
When housing is secure and safe, you can finally breathe. And when you can breathe, you can begin to plan.
A Program Designed for Long-Term Stability
The Elizabeth House is a structured transitional housing program designed to help residents move toward independence.
While living at the house, participants work toward meaningful goals such as:
- Earning a high school diploma, GED, or further education
- Pursuing career training or certifications
- Paying off debt and starting savings
- Learning budgeting and money management
- Developing parenting skills
- Building healthy relationships
- Strengthening household management skills
Residents must be willing to pursue employment or education and accept coaching, because the goal is lasting change. When a participant graduates, the hope is that she will never again have to worry about where she will live or how she will provide for her child.
You can do it. We can help.
A Community That Feels Like Home
Living in a maternity home means you are surrounded by other women in similar seasons of life. Instead of isolation, there is shared encouragement. Instead of survival mode, there is structure, guidance, and growth.
The Elizabeth House welcomes first-time, single pregnant women 18 and older, as well as new moms with infants or toddlers up to 2 years old. Whether you plan to parent or are still considering adoption, you will be supported with dignity and care.
Because the cost of housing can feel like the biggest barrier, everything you need in the program is provided free of charge.
A Safe Place for You and Your Baby to Make a New Start
If you are struggling day by day, it may feel like survival is all there is. But your story does not end there. As one former resident shared, “Every woman deserves a fair chance at life.”
At The Elizabeth House, you and your baby can build the resources you need to thrive.
If you are ready to take the next step toward stability and independence, begin the application process today. Your best days are ahead.
