You might be wondering what women who have lived at The Elizabeth House have to say about the program. We’ve gathered a few of their comments here for you to read.
“My son and I are closer as a result of The Elizabeth House. The staff showed me every thing I needed. I became much more confident as a mom….I graduated from the program and am working full time, have my own apartment, am involved in church, and enjoying parenting my son. The Elizabeth House is a place where you can become the mother you want to be.”
“I collapsed in the stairwell at The Elizabeth House and cried after I’d been accepted to the program. The Elizabeth House was my last hope. My parents were unable to support me…I was used to taking care of myself, because my parents both struggle with drug addictions, but this was beyond me. Fast forward to almost a year later – and I found myself in tears again, but this time they were tears of joy and triumph. In one hand I had my beautiful baby girl and in the other, the keys to my apartment. I thanked and hugged every staff member as the remaining boxes were loaded to take to my new home!”
“I did it! I worked through the program and graduated from The Elizabeth House. And I accomplished every goal I had set: I obtained my CNA state license, found a quality childcare for my daughter, received several job offers, and signed on the dotted line for my own apartment.
They are second parents for those who don’t have real parents. They taught me how to get along with others and motivated me to go to school and get a job. More importantly, they prayed for me and showed me God’s love.”
