A Safe Place for a New Start for Pregnant & Parenting Single Women

The Elizabeth House is a group home located in Madison, Wisconsin where you can live during pregnancy and after the birth of your child with other women in similar situations.

You want your baby to be born in a loving and safe environment and so do we. Finding housing when you are pregnant or have a little one can be difficult if you are single or have limited or no support. The Elizabeth House provides a transitional housing program where eligible pregnant women or those with an infant can begin to build a strong foundation for their parenting journey.

While in our program you’ll have an opportunity to learn new skills and achieve goals you’ve been dreaming about, including:

  • Getting your high school diploma or career training, certifications or education
  • Pay off the debt that’s been weighing you down, and save for your future. Learn how to manage your money, instead of money (or the lack of money) ruling your life.
  • Grow in life skills such as time management, conflict resolution, and negotiation
  • Get help with overcoming difficult childhood experiences
  • Learn how to identify and choose healthy relationships for you and your baby
  • Increase your household management skills including cooking, cleaning and organizing so you can create a healthy home for your child
  • Gain parenting skills to help you become the best mom you can be
  • Be surrounded by supportive staff and other women who share similar circumstances who will encourage and root for your success. No matter what you’re facing, there is help and hope for you and your baby.

    • It’s our goal that when a participant graduates, they never worry about where they will live, or how they’ll get by. They will have true security, and the resources they need to thrive.

    Meet the Core Team 

    The Elizabeth House is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The core team working with every resident to help them make progress toward their goals includes our Program Director, Care Partner, and Parenting Coach.
